Summary

On May 20th, 1914, a group of five masons and tile-makers were digging clay soil to make bricks in the site called Lakkoi Sophoule, about 200 metres beyond the village Myros, Thessaly. While digging, they found an almost destroyed ceramic pot containing about 1600 silver Greek coins, bearing impressions, portraits and animal images; the hoard was delivered to the Athens' Numismatic Museum. According to the author's opinion, this hoard was the treasury of an allied military corps in a campaign against Thessaly. A detailed description of these coins is published in this book, also depicting the differences among them in twenty plates.
